About NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a scheme of the Australian Government that funds costs associated with disability. The scheme was legislated in 2013 and went into full operation in 2020. The NDIS is now available to all eligible Australians, no matter where they live. More detail about NDIS visit ndis.gov.au

The NDIS is designed to help people with disability to get the support they need to work toward their goals. The main component of the NDIS is individualised packages of support to eligible people with disability.

To apply to become an NDIS participant you must be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category visa. You must have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities and your aged between be aged between 7 and 65 when you first enter the NDIS. If you meet the eligibility criteria you can ask to become a participant by completing an Access Request Form from the ndis.gov.au website.

If you meet the NDIS eligibility criteria you can make a verbal access request to the NDIS.GOV.AU or download and complete the Access Request Form on your computer and email it to the NDIS with supporting information. For full detail on how to apply click HERE.
